The Sower is a quarterly catechetical journal that you receive in your mailbox four times a year. It is beautifully designed and contains articles on a wide range of topics related to the Church’s mission of evangelization and catechesis. Personally, I have published six articles in this journal, and I cannot recommend it highly enough for those who work and/or volunteer in the Church.
Yesterday, I launched its new online presence at TheSowerReview.org where anyone can purchase a subscription online. Your paid subscription comes with instant online access (in addition to the print edition!) to current and past articles published in The Sower.
The site allows you to browse past issues, search the content of every past article, or search just by the words that appear in the article title.
If you are already a subscriber to The Sower, you can request online access, and the administrator will email you your new username and password within 1 to 2 business days. If you are not presently a subscriber, you may subscribe and pay online with your credit card and receive instant access to every past article (plus, of course, you will receive the print edition by mail).
For the techies out there, I built this site with Drupal 7.x on Apache/PHP/MySQL with Memcache and Apache Solr Search integration. The site rests upon Digital Ocean’s SSD VPS server farm in New York City.
Finally, you may be interested in watching a short tutorial video I created that takes the viewer through the website’s various features.
