Parish on a Hill

A while back, I was approached by a team of Catholics to see if I would be interested in taking on the task of developing and maintaining a website for them. As soon as I heard about it, I said, “Absolutely!

The endeavor is titled “The Amazing Parish” and is the fruit of the collaboration of well-known and respectable leaders in the New Evangelization and catechetical efforts in the English-speaking world, including, but not limited to: Matthew Kelly, Jeff Cavins, Lisa Brenninkmeyer, Curtis Martin, Chris Stefanick, and Patrick Lencioni.

(As a side note, Patrick is the author of “Death by Meeting” which you may have heard of if you’re into reading books about great versus not-so-great administration.)

The Amazing ParishThe website can be viewed at AmazingParish.org. On it, you’ll discover information about an incredible (or should I say: “amazing”) conference they’ll be hosting this August 27-28 at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center in Denver. The site also contains various videos and a plethora of resources to help parishes as they embrace the 7 traits of an amazing Catholic parish:

      A Real Leadership Team,
      A Clear Vision,
      A Reliance on Prayer,
      An Awesome Sunday Experience,
      Compelling Formation,
      Small Group Discipleship, and
      Missionary Zeal.

So, do your pastor a favor and send him a quick email pointing him to AmazingParish.org. The website will be growing over time, and greater things are yet to come.

On Mobile

Also, be sure to check the site out on your tablet or smartphone. I designed and developed the site to be mobile-friendly, with a slide-out main menu and a stacked, scrollable layout when viewed on devices with smaller screen sizes.

Since it will be a very popular site with tons of traffic, I placed it on super-awesome hosting with solid state drives (SSD) and top-notch caching (i.e., Varnish), so the site loads amazingly-fast.
